Visit Caves Copan
This caves where discovered by George Byron Gordon, an American explorer of Central America who visited this site from April 1-13, 1896 and returning to Copan in June 1897 to finish his investigation and document his discoveries in a book which he called it “Copan Caves” where he describes every site he visited.
This tour consist in the visit to one of the several caves that George Gordon discovered, Located 6 km from the city of Copan Ruinas up in the mountains. You will be picked up in the hotel and translated to the site where you will do a short hike and walk around 40m (130ft) deep in the cave, formed by limestone and inhabited by spiders, bats and other common insects from the area around.
As you enter you will feel a special sensation, it’s a place where the mayan ancestors made ceremonies and rituals. Also You will be able to enjoy the nature that surrounds the site.
When you return to Copan Ruinas, you will visit the fuerte Cabañas viewpoint where you will see nice views of the town.
Recomended: Bring comfortable shoes and clothes (pants).
